It is a yearly tradition for Lexington Regional Health Center to offer health screenings to the public. The next round of screenings has been scheduled for the following dates:
February 22, 23, and 24
6:30 a.m. to 9:30 am
at the Community Health & Fitness Center (1600 W. 13th St.)
Participants receive cholesterol and blood sugar screenings, which can help identify diabetes and heart disease. New this year are additional tests including complete metabolic panel, complete blood count, and a lipid panel.
“The additional tests will help alert people of health concerns, including anemia and diabetes, plus aid them in monitoring their overall wellness,” Sarnes said.
Participants are asked to fast for 10 hours before the screening and to drink two glasses of water prior before the screening. Rolls, coffee, and juice will be available to enjoy afterwards.
The health screenings will be held at the Community Health and Fitness Center in Lexington. The screenings will cost a nominal $20 to help cover the additional tests. For more information, please call Cathy Sarnes at (308) 324-8326.
