Hospice is a philosophy that accepts death as a natural part of life and seeks to neither hasten nor prolong the dying process. Instead, hospice offers a focus on the patient’s comfort and quality of life, rather than aggressive curative treatments.

Hospice Resources:

Available for terminally ill patients, generally those who are diagnosed as having no more than six months to live

  • A caring environment with pain control and palliative care for patients, respite for the primary caregiver, along with support for the patient and the family are provided
  • Care responds to the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual impact of the disease on the patients, their significant others, and their families
  • The team works with the patients, their families, and physicians to personalize a plan of care, because the needs of each are unique.
  • Patients and their families are the core of the hospice team and are at the center of all decision-making.
 Journey Through Grief Support Group

The vision of the Journey Through Grief Support Group is to provide a continuum of emotional support, encouragement, and hope for any person experiencing the death of a loved one.

This group meets at 4:30 p.m. the first Monday of each month at the Community Health and Fitness Center, 1600 West 13th, Lexington, Nebraska.
