Interests mostly revolve around family and church, exercise regularly using bicycle, receiving training at present time to be a Stephens Minister through the United Methodist Church. Served 16 years on the Lexington School Board. Active on a number of committees such as Lexington Drug Council, and a number of other committees that involve school and health concerns. Hobbies include spending time with his grandchildren, reading, and exercising.
Dr. Jones received the Family Physician of the Year award in 2009 in the state of Nebraska. He also was named State Medical Director of the Year in 2001, and UNMC Alumnus of the Year in 1993. In 1983, he was voted Jaycee Outstanding Young Man.
